USD’s Knauss Center of Business Education provides innovation spaces for both undergraduate and graduate students. The $67 million project included the 89,000 SF ground-up center and the renovation of 47,000 SF Olin Hall. Waveguide provided AV and acoustic design and consulting throughout the expansive project.
When it opened, Tim Kean, PhD, dean of the Knauss School of Business said, “Inside what I call the ‘innovation and collaboration ecosystem,’ we have state-of-the-art spaces. It’s designed the way business today and in the future is supposed to work — it’s open and it’s collaborative.”
The Free Enterprise Suite is a technology-rich space to help seed student startups from across the university. The Student Success Center unifies advising, career development, mentoring and other student services. The production studio is a high-technology production studio allowing students to create mock interviews, videos, podcasts and other tools to help students develop their personal brand.
Spaces include 23 classrooms, a 1,200 SF financial markets lab and 1,200 SF data analytics lab. There are board meeting rooms, a 2,600 SF Nexus Theatre, and a 250-seat auditorium.
