Waveguide provided acoustics and theatrical technology design for the Spartanburg School District Five Fine Arts Center, which is used by faculty and community to celebrate the arts an includes dedicated spaces that encourage creativity and expression. The 50,000-square-foot facility includes a 1,000-seat auditorium and lobby with digital signage, which is used for receptions, congregation and events. The project team received an Excellence In School Building and Design Award from the South Carolina chapter of the Council of Educational Facility Planners International (CEFPI). Of the award MacMillan Pazdan Smith said, “The jury really admired the way that the public areas bring in daylight and connect to the outdoors…and imagined the spaces provide a wonderful billboard for evening performances.”
