The $35 million, 122,000-square-foot Natalie L. Haslam Music Center features 40 faculty studios; 45 practice rooms; a 420-seat recital hall; band room, choral, orchestra, percussion and chamber music rehearsal rooms; and administrative offices. Waveguide provided audiovisual design and project oversight services which included complete performance audio, high definition video and multi-track recording systems for the recital hall, studio and various rehearsal rooms. These systems were designed for a variety of performance styles from rock, to choral productions to jazz ensembles. Additionally, students can use recording systems in the practice rooms to capture rehearsals for self-evaluation and project submission. The Music Center, dedicated in September 2013, is designed to meet LEED Silver sustainability standards.
