Southface Eco Office

When Atlanta nonprofit Southface, known for promoting sustainable design in the built environment, began planning their award-winning Eco Office, a demonstration facility to showcase green design in the workplace, they hired Waveguide to work with them to design technology systems that were friendly to the environment, a process that included a cradle to cradle approach to specifying products. Waveguide looked at manufacturing processes to system energy draw to product recycling when designing the green workplace showpiece. The resulting three-story, 10,000-square-foot Eco Office includes technology not often found in small workplaces, costs for which were offset by advanced energy savings. The facility was certified LEED Platinum and has been recognized by the Urban Land institute with a Development of Excellence Award, the Atlanta Business Chronicle with a Green Reach Award and AIA Atlanta as a Showcase Winner at the 2007 Greenprints Conference.
