Structured Cabling Designer II

Our Atlanta office, located in Decatur, Ga., is currently seeking qualified candidates for an immediate opening as a structured cabling designer. As part of the design services team, you will work with other designers in teams to create cutting edge audiovisual designs for our clients. Applicants must have experience in structured cabling design, data/telecom, building construction, and the ability to create designs independently.

Waveguide LLC is an independent consulting and design firm working with clients in a wide range of commercial and institutional markets to develop critical communication technology systems and infrastructure solutions. Our technology expertise includes audiovisual, voice and data communications infrastructure, and smart building controls. Our focus is on creating strategic technology plans, efficient building and infrastructure designs, and effective technology system solutions to drive the success of our clients’ organizations.

Exterior data infrastructure design
Interior data infrastructure design
Design specification support
Cost estimation
CAD/Revit drawing/model creation
Drawing/model markup repair

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

3+ years of experience a data/telecom – structured cabling designer
Proficient with Autodesk AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit, certification preferred
Proficient with Microsoft Excel
Strong understanding of commercial telecommunications cabling, data network cabling, service entry
Strong technical understanding of related communications technologies and security infrastructure
Strong familiarity with commercial/institutional building design and construction, including understanding of typical building systems (i.e. HVAC, electrical, lighting, building controls, security, etc.) with the ability to read and understand architectural and trade drawings
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical communications field is preferred
RCDD certification is preferred
