Santa Monica College has completed an extensive $62 million renovation and improvement project at the College’s Stewart Campus. The renovation and expansion of the existing 72,000-square-foot Center for Media and Design building is part of the comprehensive site and infrastructure improvements completed across the 3.7-acre campus. The renovated and expanded building provides new classroom and lab facilities in a newly energized environment supporting studies in digital media, animation, graphic design and interior architecture. The building also serves as the social hub of the Stewart Campus, providing student services that include a bookstore, café, study areas and open computer lab, an auditorium and screening room, and a wide assortment of student gathering places. An adjacent building provides a sophisticated new home for KCRW, the College’s highly regarded radio station serving Southern California and a global Internet audience. Waveguide provided AV and IT consulting and design support for the project.
