The new U.S. Federal Courthouse in Billings, Montana, is located on a two-acre site in the city’s central business district. The $59 million, 146,700-square-foot facility—which was funded by the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and was constructed through a design-build contract—is part of the GSA Design and Construction Excellence program. The new courthouse includes three courtrooms and offices for the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts, the U.S. Marshals Service and the Department of Justice U.S. Attorneys’ Offices. The facility achieved a LEED Gold certification. Waveguide served in a technical design support and peer review role and focused on the building’s AV and IT planning and infrastructure design.
