General Services Administration (GSA) | Bakersfield Federal Courthouse

The award-winning $28.6 million, 35,500-square-foot Bakersfield Federal Courthouse is located in Bakersfield’s only downtown park and uses 45 percent less energy compared to typical courthouse facilities, delivering on GSA’s promise to deliver a new high-performance, sustainable facility to the City of Bakersfield and the Judiciary. Waveguide provided technology integration and project management consulting for the audiovisual presentation, videoconferencing, structured cabling for data/telecommunications, wired and wireless data networking, security and television distribution systems. The project has been recognized with several design awards, including an AIA Justice Facilities Review Citation, an AIA Justice Facilities Review Jury Recognition of Innovation, an ENR California Award of Merit and a General Services Administration Design Awards Citation. The facility also houses the offices for the District Clerk, U.S. Marshal Service, U.S. Probate and U.S. Pre-Trial offices, as well as judicial chambers and jury assembly spaces.
