Senior Field Technician

Atlanta, Georgia

Our Atlanta office, located in Decatur, Ga., is currently seeking qualified candidates for an immediate opening as a senior field technician to support audiovisual, videoconferencing, and AV and IT projects across a broad range of market segments including corporate, higher education, and government. This position involves systems acceptance testing and commissioning of commercial audiovisual and videoconferencing systems at client sites, plus on-site operation, coordination, execution, and support of the audiovisual systems and requirements of executive, educational and routine meetings in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

Our technology expertise includes audiovisual, voice and data communications infrastructure, and smart building controls. Our focus is on creating strategic technology plans, efficient building and infrastructure designs, and effective technology system solutions to drive the success of our clients’ organizations.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide technical commissioning services of Waveguide projects on client locations to ensure system functionality.
  • Assist with client training and initial technical support.
  • Oversee the efforts to set up, test, maintain, operate and break down all audiovisual (AV) and videoconference (VTC) equipment, including video data projection systems, computers, audio and videoconference equipment, microphones, video cameras, audio systems, and operation of integrated AV systems.
  • Provide on-site testing, shop testing and on-site verification of systems and rooms.
  • Coordinate with client and provide in-room support for VIP events.
  • Troubleshoot audiovisual and videoconferencing related technology, including varios projectors, control systems, and audio and videoconferencing equipment.
  • Provide best-effort assistance to fulfill any audiovisual technical requirements as assigned.
  • Provide consultation and education to all levels of end users on presentation technologies.
  • Maintain understanding of current and new technology.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate’s degree in technology, or equivalent.
  • Thorough working knowledge of the operation and troubleshooting of AV and videoconferencing related technology.
  • Strong customer service and communications skills required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Ability to facilitate tasks with internal and external staff to assure meeting and event success.
  • Understanding of normal business and office procedures.
  • Experience working in a fast paced university/conference center environment.
  • Self-motivated independent thinker.
  • One to three years’ audiovisual technology management experience.
  • One to three years’ years VTC and presentation technologies experience.
  • One to three years’ years customer service experience.
  • Industry relevant training or technical courses a plus.
  • Ability to travel 40 to 70 percent of time.
