Audiovisual Associate

Atlanta, Georgia

Our Atlanta office, located in Decatur, Ga., is currently seeking qualified candidates for an immediate opening as an audiovisual associate to support audiovisual, videoconferencing, and AV and IT projects across a broad range of market segments including corporate, higher education, and government.

Waveguide LLC is an independent consulting and design firm working with clients in a wide range of commercial and institutional markets to develop critical communication technology systems and infrastructure solutions. Our technology expertise includes audiovisual, voice and data communications infrastructure, and smart building controls. Our focus is on creating strategic technology plans, efficient building and infrastructure designs, and effective technology system solutions to drive the success of our clients’ organizations.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Entry level position with four-year degree in technology field.
  • Provide technical acceptance testing and quality control services for Waveguide projects at client locations to ensure system functionality and conformance to design specifications.
  • Assist with client training and initial technical support.
  • Oversee efforts to set up, test, maintain, operate and break down all audiovisual (AV) and videoconference (VTC) equipment, including video projection systems, computers, audio and videoconference equipment, microphones, video cameras, audio systems and operation of integrated AV systems.
  • Observe and report base building infrastructure, and coordinate design and field inconsistencies.
  • Provide on-site testing, shop testing and on-site verification of systems and rooms.
  • Troubleshoot issues with audiovisual and videoconferencing-related technology, including projectors, control systems, audio and videoconferencing equipment.
  • Provide best-effort assistance to fulfill any audiovisual technical requirements as assigned.
  • Provide consultation and education to all levels of end users on presentation technologies.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance checks (e.g., either report or address issues such as cable management, noncompliance with safety standards, etc.) and provide asset management of all audiovisual equipment.
  • Maintain understanding of current and new technology.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering/technology
  • Strong customer service and communications skills
  • Ability to facilitate tasks with internal and external staff to ensure coordination and distribution of project information
  • Experience working in a fast-paced university/conference center environment
  • Self-motivated independent thinker
  • Understanding of normal business and office procedures
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Outlook)
  • Industry relevant training or technical courses a plus
  • Ability to travel 40 to 70 percent of time
