LOS ANGELES, July 26, 2012…Today the city welcomed the opening of the first two blocks of Grand Park, a new public green space in the Grand Avenue Corridor of downtown Los Angeles. Grand Park was conceived as a way to support downtown revitalization and is celebrated as a major milestone in that effort.

After undergoing a $56-million renovation, the 12-acre park–situated along Grand Avenue and within Instagram-ing distance of iconic Los Angeles art and architecture, including City Hall and the previously obscured Arthur J. Will Memorial Fountain–now provides a visually arresting community gathering place where visitors can take “respite from the grind of city life.” Grand Park was designed with the goal of using technology to turn this public space into a dynamic urban media environment, creating an engaging sense of place for all its visitors.
