Waveguide Consulting once again qualified for the audiovisual industry’s highest level of distinction, the Diamond-level Certified AV Solutions Provider designation.
The Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) program–an ANSI-accredited program that’s been administered by InfoComm International for more than 30 years–is recognized worldwide as the leading AV professional credential. To meet the Diamond-level criteria, more than 75 percent of Waveguide’s staff have earned their individual CTS or specialized CTS credentials, including 12 individuals who hold the CTS credential and 15 who hold the CTS-D or CTS-I specialized AV system design or installation designations. The select few companies that achieve CAVSP invest heavily in education and training to stay current on the newest AV technologies and techniques.

Waveguide recently rolled out our new manufacturer-distributor portal, Wavelet. The intent of Wavelet is to give all bidders a fair opportunity to bid your product by providing transparent access to information on Waveguide bids, which may be extracted for your forecasting and record use. Initial bid information will be searchable by date, Waveguide project manager and city. The information on Wavelet includes the name and city of the project, name and location of the integrators invited to bid (if known at the time of bid), and a general contact form. The bid information is posted the same week, and often the same day as the project goes out to bid. The bid due date will not be included on Wavelet, but is easily attainable from one of the listed bidders. Also included is a comprehensive list of products used by Waveguide design team members as the basis for design. Any updates to quantities and model numbers that are the result of the RFI process will not be reflected on the website.
We are proud of this new system of sharing information with manufacturers, and we hope it will be very useful to bidders on Waveguide projects. If you have any questions or if you would like to obtain Wavelet credentials for your company, please contact Harry Allison.
Watch how University of Notre Dame Law School students are using advanced education technology to apply classroom learning to real-world scenarios.
“This classroom is great with technology. Everything is in sync. The professor can incorporate Web videos or documents into the lecture because we have a great projector and a big screen for everyone to see. There are outlets for laptops, and it’s a big space with windows for natural light, which is nice when you’re spending so much time in a classroom like this.”—Patrick, University of Notre Dame law student
Waveguide is pleased to announce the addition of Alberto Lopez to its Los Angeles office. After undergoing a $56-million renovation, the 12-acre park–situated along Grand Avenue and within Instagram-ing distance of iconic Los Angeles art and architecture, including City Hall and the previously obscured Arthur J. Will Memorial Fountain–now provides a visually arresting community gathering place where visitors can take “respite from the grind of city life.” Grand Park was designed with the goal of using technology to turn this public space into a dynamic urban media environment, creating an engaging sense of place for all its visitors.
Waveguide is proud to have contributed to this landmark project.
WASHINGTON, D.C., May 17, 2012….This morning the Sustainable Technology Environments Program (STEP) rating system, which Waveguide president Scott Walker helped create, made its official Washington, D.C., debut. As part of High-Performance Building Week (May 14-19, 2012), the U.S. House of Representatives High-Performance Building Congressional Caucus Coalition heard a presentation on the STEP rating system from several members of the STEP Foundation Board. Scott was there to address questions from caucus representatives and other interested industry partners (and to see his baby shine).
This meeting was the first stage in the process of getting the STEP rating system recognized by the federal government, much the way LEED is mandated on federal building projects. Mae Stevens, legislative assistant to caucus co-chair Rep. Russ Carnahan (D, MO-3), suggested that the STEP Foundation propose legislation pertaining to the adoption and recognition of STEP. This comment was a positive outcome of STEP’s introduction to Congress.

Scott was also recognized for his work at Waveguide, where he promotes green practices in communication technology design; champions LEED accreditation for principals, project managers and designers; and spearheaded the initiative to achieve an AV credit for the LEED certification of Waveguide’s new headquarters.
