Waveguide congratulates Scott Walker, president and CEO of Waveguide, for his induction into the first annual System Contractor News AV Hall of Fame. The hall of fame was created “to honor those professionals who are shaping our industry through their professional and volunteer efforts.” Scott was recognized for his many years of contribution to the communications technology industry, including serving as the first non-dealer president of InfoComm International, the premier organization for pro AV professionals; representing the industry in its campaign for the inclusion of AV credits in the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program; and chairing the task force that designed InfoComm’s new Sustainable Technology Environments Program (STEP) green AV rating system as a complement to LEED. Scott was also recognized for his work at Waveguide, where he promotes green practices in communication technology design; champions LEED accreditation for principals, project managers and designers; and spearheaded the initiative to achieve an AV credit for the LEED certification of Waveguide’s new headquarters.

“Scott Walker is a trailblazer in the AV industry,” Randal A. Lemke, Ph.D., executive director and CEO of InfoComm International, said to Systems Contractor News. “More than four years ago, he became the world’s first LEED AP, CTS-D.”

Scott is a contributing editor to rAVe GreenAV and writes a monthly column, Eco Systems, on trends in the green AV movement. Waveguide is also a registered AIC-CES provider, and Scott regularly delivers green AV presentations to architects for continuing education credit.
